Day -44: Pats Backcountry

Day -44: Pats Backcountry

I have already had a couple people offer to help me on my hike, asking what gear or supplies they could ship me.

.

It is a difficult question, the easy part to answer — I will not accept something like Kickstarter or gofundme because _please_ people asking other people to fund their vacations is just kind of of icky.  (I’m cool with loans, or if it is a honeymoon etc).  That leaves food and gear.

Food:  Unless your name is Dicentra or Mom, please don’t send me food.  On the other hand, if you ARE Dicentra or Mom, you know what to do!  😉

Gear:  I am pretty much at the gear complete stage.  The gear I will need is too specific, and shopping for the right gear too time sensitive to the point where you it probably isn’t a good idea to help me here either.  A couple examples, I won’t decide whether to get crampons or an ice axe until a few days before I’ll need them.  If/when I do, I’ll need them right now!   Hello Amazon Prime.    Another thing I’ll need is shoes periodically, and I’m pretty sure the price tag on those will be bigger than what people intend.  Not to mention, I cannot pre order shoes because I won’t know what size I’ll need till I am out on trail — feet swell, I may or may not need half or a whole size larger.

.

So how could you help if you really wanted to?

*smirk* Instant Beer!    Check this out, it is beautiful!:  Pats Backcountry  Aww yeah!

.

The real answer — I’d love it most if people visited me while on trail.  🙂

.

Until Next time…  Charlie

P.s. Bloody hell, why is the featured image sideways?

Charlie, will you be posting your itinerary? Would be good to know where you are planning to be at any given time if we are to join up for company. When do you think you might be at Snoqualmie Pass? If the timing works out, I might be able to do that section with you.
