Everything in human existence on one pale blue dot.
Every life, every death, every war, every human drop of blood spilled. The totality of human existence – – occurred on a single pale blue dot. This photo was taken from Voyager 1, 3.7 billion miles from earth.

While hiking the trail, I noticed something. All of the ‘stuff’, every piece of dirt with the nutrients required to sustain life – was merely the barest ethereal filament between the rocks and the sky. Earths regolith (which is all the stuff on land that isn’t rocks – including clay – so a lot more than what I am talking about) would be 15.5 meters if spread out on all the land we have. That is it.
.
We take Earth for granted.

This photo reminded me of how ephemeral we really are. It reminded me of this impression I got on trail. It makes me want to shake the rulers of the world and shout in to their brains until they realize how fragile our spaceship – our earth – really is.
