Day 55: Escaping the Vortex

Day 55: Escaping the Vortex

Start: 702.23 Kennedy Meadows
End: 709.48 Unnamed campsite
.
It took all day to get out of KM. The biggest problem was getting myself going in the heat. With the new bear canister, my routine for packing was tossed on its ear, not to mention tons of new food and equipment that need to be packed also.
.
After dropping 3.5 L worth of bottles (YAY) I finally found a semblance of ‘right enough’ and headed out.
I now have 3L in bottles plus my dirty water sack which I can filter for another 1.5 so could hold 4.5 max now.
.
I reached camp and found a seminary trail crew there, started setting camp to find I had no stakes!
OH NO!
Do I cowboy camp here? Do I hike back I encumbered tonight? Tomorrow? Crap crap crap… Oh wait here hey are!
Damn stakes were rolled up with my tent like I NEVER do. I suspect they were on top of the tent and I didn’t notice when I rolled the tent up.
.
Fingers are cold, goodnight.
